Here are The Tuscaloosa News high school spring sports MVPs for boys and girls tennis, golf, soccer and track and field for the 2021 seasons:

Golf

Boys MVP: Andrew Miles, Bibb County

Miles placed ninth in the Class 4A AHSAA state championship with a score of 118 over 36 holes completed at Robert Trent Jones course at Magnolia Grove in Mobile. He shot 74 to take low medalist honors at South Sub-State.

Girls MVP: Ashlee Allen, Northside

Allen was low medalist at the Class 4A-5A AHSAA state championship at 1-under 71 at Robert Trent Jones course at Magnolia Grove in Mobile. She was also low medalist with a round of 69 at South Sub-State.

Soccer

Girls MVP: Aileen Charles, Northridge

The junior midfielder scored 15 goals and had 15 assists for a team that finished 12-7-3 and reached the AHSAA semifinals. She is also starting kicker for the Northridge football team and started on a Final Four girls basketball team in 2020. 

Boys MVP: Oli Kneer, Tuscaloosa Academy

The sophomore scored 33 goals with 16 assists while playing center forward and center back for the AISA state champions, kicking the lone goal in a 1-0 victory in the state title game. The Knights’ team captain played 1,110 minutes in 14 games, averaging 2.35 goals and 1.14 assists .

Tennis

Boys MVP: Thomas Harper, Northridge

Harper advanced to the quarterfinals of the AHSAA Class 6A No. 1 boys singles tournament. He also made it to the quarterfinals in No. 1 doubles with Kelen Rhea, with the duo finishing fifth in the state.

Girls MVP: Jacqueline Alcocer, Northidge

Alcocer finished second in Class 6A at No. 1 girls singles tournament. She made it to the second round of the No. 1 doubles draw with Channing Vick, with the duo placing fifth in the state.

Track and field

Girls MVP: Rashni Walker, Northridge

Walker won the Class 6A 100- and 300-meter hurdles state championships, winning the 100 in 14.41 seconds after setting the state meet record in the preliminary round at 13.95. She won the 300 in 43.17. She also finished fifth in the 200 meters in 25.76 seconds.

Boys MVP: Jentzen Moore, Holy Spirit

Moore won the Class 1A 1,600- and 3,200-meter events state championships in the AHSAA meet and placed second in the 800 meters. He finished the 1,600 in 4:45.95, the 3,200 in 10:26.34 and the 800 in 2:10.09.
