Jun 14: NIU hires assistant
Northern Illinois: Southeast Missouri State offensive line coach Jason Onyebuagu is expected to join the NIU staff as tight ends coach, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Onyebuagu played at NIU from 2006-09. FootballScoop first reported the news.
June 11: Red Wolves hire special teams coach
Arkansas State: Florida State special teams analyst Curt Baldus is expected to join the Arkansas State staff as special teams coordinator, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. Baldus spent one year at FSU and previously spent seven years at Coastal Carolina.
June 10: Jarrett returns to Hokies
Auburn: Former Utah State tight ends coach/special teams coordinator Roc Bellantoni has joined the staff as a defensive analyst.
Virginia Tech: Former player Kyshoen Jarrett has joined the staff as assistant director of player personnel.
Georgia State: Athletic director Charlie Cobb has received an extension through August 2024, according to College AD. Cobb’s contract was set to expire in August.
Louisiana Monroe: Former ULM wide receivers coach Joey Fitzgerald is expected to join the Northwestern State staff as quarterbacks coach, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini.
June 7: Alabama extends Nick Saban through 2028 season
Alabama: Head coach Nick Saban has received an extension through 2028. His annual compensation of $8.4 million will increase throughout the contract, and he’ll receive an $800,000 bonus at the end of each of the next four seasons.
LSU: New offensive line coach Brad Davis will earn an average of $830,000 over three years, according to The Athletic’s Brody Miller. Davis earned $550,000 at Arkansas last year.
Stetson: Georgia Southern defensive analyst Brian Young has been named head coach at Stetson. Young spent one year at Georgia Southern and was previously Stetson’s defensive coordinator for eight years.

LSU: Former Kansas offensive line coach Lee Grimes has joined the LSU staff as an analyst, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.
Arkansas: Tight ends coach Cody Kennedy is expected to move to offensive line coach, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. Kennedy was previously the offensive line coach at Southern Miss and Tulane. 247Sports first reported the news.
LSU: Arkansas offensive line coach Brad Davis is expected to join the LSU staff in the same role, people with knowledge of the situation tell The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman and Brody Miller. Davis is a Baton Rouge native and has coached at Florida, Missouri and Arkansas over the last four years.
Kent State: Valdosta State defensive coordinator Lee Stalker has joined the Kent State staff as outside linebackers coach. Stalker played at Kent State from 2007-11.
Central Michigan: Former UCF quality control assistant Ian Scott has joined the CMU staff as defensive line coach. Scott was a graduate assistant for Jim McElwain at Florida in 2017.
Kentucky: Georgia State safeties coach Chris Collins has joined the UK staff as defensive backs coach. Collins spent four years at Georgia State.
June 2: Cregg out at LSU
LSU: The school has parted ways with offensive line coach James Cregg. He spent three years on staff.
Coastal Carolina: Former South Carolina linebackers coach Rod Wilson will join the Coastal staff as inside linebackers coach, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Wilson previously worked under Jamey Chadwell at Charleston Southern from 2013-16. Defensive coordinator Chad Staggs will take over the safeties.
June 1: Mullen’s contract extension
Michigan State: Wisconsin director of player personnel Saeed Khalif is expected to join the MSU staff in the same role.
Florida: Head coach Dan Mullen has received a three-year extension and raise to $7.6 million annually, up from $6.07 million in 2020.
Kansas State: Southern University offensive line coach Brian Lepak is expected to join the K-State staff as senior offensive quality control/assistant director of recruiting, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini.
Kansas: Former Michigan State director of player personnel Scott Aligo is expected to join Kansas as director of scouting, people with knowledge of the situation tell The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.
UMass: Analyst and former head coach Jim Reid will take over as interim defensive tackles coach, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Yahoo Sports first reported the news.
San Jose State: Northern Colorado running backs coach Lyle Moevao has joined the staff as a defensive analyst.
May 26: Arkansas State special teams coordinator steps down
UTEP: Special teams coordinator Joe Robinson has retired, and Northern Arizona running backs coach/special teams coordinator Aaron Price has been hired to fill the spot. Price, the son of former UTEP head coach Mike Price, was on the Miners staff from 2004-12.
Arkansas State: Special teams coordinator Steve Hauser has stepped down and taken a position outside of football, he announced on Twitter. Hauser joined the staff in January from Iowa State.
Iowa: Former Iowa quarterback and current St. Thomas More School (CT) head coach Jason Manson has joined Iowa as director of player development.
May 25: Charlotte adds special teams coordinator
Charlotte: West Virginia senior special teams analyst Tyler Hancock is expected to join the Charlotte staff as special teams coordinator, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Hancock spent two years at West Virginia after three in a similar role at Maryland. FootballScoop first reported the news.
May 24: Gattis’ contract
Houston: Director of player development Daikiel Shorts has been promoted to wide receivers coach and will hold the role through the fall, a person with knowledge of the situation confirms to The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Shorts has been on staff for two years and played receiver for Dana Holgorsen at West Virginia.
Michigan: Offensive coordinator Josh Gattis has signed a one-year extension through 2022 with a $100,000 raise to $1 million in 2022. In addition, new defensive backs coach Steve Clinkscale will earn at least $600,000 annually on a three-year deal.
Buffalo: Rice recruiting analyst Daniel Gaine is expected to join Buffalo as defensive recruiting coordinator.
May 23: Ole Miss eyes next O-line coach
Ole Miss: Gardner-Webb offensive line coach Jake Thornton is expected to join the Ole Miss staff in the same role, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.
May 21: SJSU AD stepping down
San Jose State: Athletic director Marie Tuite is stepping down and moving to a role as special director of external relations and capital project development, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Nicole Auerbach.
Louisiana: Assistant offensive line coach Bryant Ross is expected to become offensive line coach at Grambling State, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.
LSU: Former Detroit Lions running backs coach Kyle Caskey has joined the LSU staff as an offensive analyst, people with knowledge of the situation tell The Athletic’s Brody Miller.
Buffalo: Duquesne offensive line coach Matt Stansfield will join the Buffalo staff in the same role, according to Yahoo Sports. This completes Mo Linguist’s on-field staff.
May 20: Houston assistant change
Houston: Wide receivers coach Tyron Carrier is no longer on staff, the school announced. Carrier had been on staff since 2019 and previously worked under Dana Holgorsen at West Virginia.
Akron: Former Kansas senior offensive analyst John Morookian has joined Akron as tight ends coach. Morookian spent part of 2020 as KU’s interim offensive line coach.
May 19: Duke hires AD
Duke: Nina King has been promoted to athletic director. She was previously Duke’s senior deputy director of athletics for administration and legal affairs and chief of staff and has been at Duke for 13 years.
Ohio State: Athletic director Gene Smith will receive an extension through 2026 and earn $2.06 million per year, according to The Athletic’s Bill Landis.
Kansas: Lance Leipold has added Buffalo wide receivers coach Rob Ianello as general manager and retained linebackers coach Jordan Peterson as senior defensive analyst. In addition, Michael Painter (director of football operations), Grant Murray (director of player personnel) and Taiwo Onatolu (senior special teams analyst) have also joined KU from Buffalo.
Michigan: Vanderbilt on-campus recruiting coordinator Christina DeRuyter has joined the Michigan staff as director of on-campus recruiting and operations.
Alabama: Offensive analyst Tino Sunseri has joined the James Madison staff as quarterbacks coach.
Central Michigan: Defensive line coach Justin Hinds has joined the Western Carolina staff as defensive coordinator.
Buffalo: Minnesota assistant strength coach Jeremy Cole has joined Buffalo as head strength coach.
May 17: Buffalo continues building staff
USC: The Athletic’s Antonio Morales takes a look at Clay Helton’s salary, the expected pay bump and what it means for USC.
Colgate: Head coach Dan Hunt is leaving to “address personal issues” following a “violation of university policy not involving students,” the school announced. Hunt had been with the program since 1995 and had been the head coach since 2014. Associate head coach Stan Dakosty will serve as interim head coach for 2021.
Buffalo: UMass defensive tackles coach Cedric Douglas will join the UB staff as defensive line coach/run game coordinator, according to Yahoo Sports.
May 15: Kelly’s salary
Buffalo: Former Marshall wide receivers coach Dallas Baker has joined the UB staff in the same role, according to his Twitter account. In addition, Georgia quality control assistant Rod Ojong is expected to join as safeties coach, and Campbell cornerbacks coach DeAndre Thompson is expected to join as cornerbacks coach, according to Yahoo Sports.
Notre Dame: Brian Kelly made $2,560,144 during the 2019 school reporting period, according to Notre Dame’s tax return, although that number is likely much higher.
Reads one part of the return: “During calendar year 2019, the university made payments to an LLC owned by the head football coach, which are not reportable compensation for purposes of Form 990. Therefore, the payments are excluded from Form 990 Part VII and Schedule J, Part II.” Additionally, per the return: “The current head football coach is permitted to receive compensation from external sources with prior written approval from the university. The university is not a party to any agreements between the coach and any third party for the payment of compensation to the coach, and the coach does not provide services to the university as a result of any such agreements. Therefore, any external income that the coach may receive is not reported for purposes of the university’s response to the question raised on Form 990 Part VII Line 5.”
May 14: NC State AD extension
Iowa: The Athletic’s Scott Dochterman explains Kirk Ferentz’s salary “reduction” and what it really means.
NC State: Athletic director Boo Corrigan has received a two-year extension through April 2026.
UNLV: Offensive line coach Cameron Norcross is no longer on staff, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. He spent one year at UNLV after four at Vanderbilt.
Buffalo: Akron running backs coach Mike Daniels is expected to join the Buffalo staff as running backs coach/recruiting coordinator, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Daniels was a high school coach last season, joined Army as a recruiting coordinator in February, then joined Akron in March. He previously worked at Buffalo from 2009-11. May 13: Linehan joins Missouri
Missouri: Former NFL offensive coordinator and LSU passing game coordinator Scott Linehan has joined the Missouri staff as an offensive analyst.
Kansas: Buffalo head strength coach Matt Gildersleeve has joined the Kansas staff in the same role.
Virginia Tech: Justin Fuente has added Leah Joseph as director of on-campus recruiting, promoted Beau Davidson to director of recruiting and promoted Lino Lupinetti to assistant director of personnel and recruiting.
Buffalo: James Madison offensive coordinator Shane Montgomery will become the offensive coordinator at Buffalo, according to ESPN and the Daily News-Record. Montgomery spent two years at JMU.
May 12: Leipold completes staff
Kansas: Lance Leipold has completed his coaching staff. He retained defensive line coach Kwahn Drake, cornerbacks coach Chevis Jackson, wide receivers coach Emmett Jones, special teams coordinator Jacob Schoonover and running backs coach Jonathan Wallace. From Buffalo, Leopold brought offensive coordinator/tight ends coach Andy Kotelnicki, defensive coordinator/safeties coach Brian Borland, offensive line coach Scott Fuchs, linebackers coach Chris Simpson and quarterbacks coach Jim Zebrowski.
Navy: Kent State outside linebackers coach Joe Coniglio has joined the Navy staff as a defensive assistant, and defensive assistant Robert Green has been promoted to cornerbacks coach.
May 11: Clinkscale to Michigan
Michigan: Kentucky defensive backs coach Steve Clinkscale has been hired as defensive backs coach/passing game coordinator at Michigan.
May 10: Buffalo’s new DC
Buffalo: Head coach Maurice Linguist’s contract is a 4.5-year deal through 2025 with an annual salary of $675,000, according to the Buffalo News. The buyout if Linguist leaves starts at $1.5 million in 2021.
Buffalo: Former Houston defensive coordinator Joe Cauthen will join the Buffalo staff as defensive coordinator, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Cauthen spent two years at Houston after five at Arkansas State. He previously worked with new Buffalo head coach Maurice Linguist at Valdosta State in 2008. Yahoo Sports first reported the news.
May 7: Buffalo hires Linguist
Stetson: Head coach Roger Hughes has stepped down to become president of Doane University, his alma mater. Hughes went 31-50 in eight seasons after the program was revived in 2011.
Michigan: Kentucky DBs coach Steve Clinkscale will be a candidate to replace new Buffalo head coach Maurice Linguist as co-defensive coordinator/cornerbacks coach at Michigan, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Nick Baumgardner.
Buffalo: Michigan co-defensive coordinator/cornerbacks coach Maurice Linguist has been hired as Buffalo’s new head coach. The 37-year-old Linguist arrived at Michigan this winter after spending the 2020 season as the Dallas Cowboys’ cornerbacks coach. Linguist was an assistant at Buffalo from 2012-13 and spent the 2018 and ’19 seasons on the Texas A&M staff.
SMU: Special teams coordinator Chris Brasfield is leaving to pursue full-time ministry in September. He will serve as a senior analyst until then, and current analyst Kenny Perry is expected to be promoted to special teams coordinator.
Presbyterian: Pulaski Acadamy (Ark.) head coach Kevin Kelley is the new head coach at Presbyterian. Kelley is known as the high school coach who never punts and always onside kicks, won nine state championships.
Wake Forest: Georgia Southern director of on-campus recruiting Jalyn Ballein has joined Wake Forest as assistant to the head coach/on-campus recruiting coordinator.
May 4: Washington State extends AD Chun
Akron: Wisconsin-Green Bay athletic director Charles Guthrie has been named athletic director at Akron.
Washington State: Athletic director Pat Chun has received a one-year extension through 2026.
May 3: Northwestern hires AD
Kansas: Buffalo assistants expected to join Lance Leipold at KU include Rob Ianello, Brian Borland, Andy Kotelnicki, Chris Simpson, Jim Zebrowski, Scott Fuchs and Taiwo Onatolu, with roles yet to be determined, according to Yahoo Sports. Ianello is also a candidate to replace Leipold at Buffalo.
Texas Tech: Former Texas Tech running back Sammy Morris has joined the staff as assistant director of player support development.
Northwestern: Deputy athletic director for external affairs Mike Polisky has been promoted to athletic director. He’s been in the department since 2010.
UL Monroe: Dusty Rutledge has joined the ULM staff as chief of staff. Rutledge previously worked with ULM offensive coordinator Rich Rodriguez at West Virginia, Michigan, Arizona and Ole Miss and spent last season coaching high school ball.
Kansas: New head coach Lance Leipold’s contract is a six-year deal worth $2.2 million in the first year with $200,000 annual raises (it’s a $300,000 raise in 2024), according to 247Sports.
UNLV: Athletic director Desiree Reed-Francois has received a contract extension through June 2026.
Alabama A&M: Head coach Connell Maynor has received a four-year extension. Alabama A&M won the SWAC on Saturday.
May 1: Southern promotes safeties coach to interim head coach
Southern: Safeties coach/special teams coordinator Jason Rollins has been promoted to interim head coach for the rest of 2021. Rollins just finished his first season on staff.
Memphis: Director of football operations Sam Curtis has left the program for a career outside of football.
Texas State: Athletic director Larry Teis will step down at the end of the August. Teis has been the AD since 2004.
April 30: Leipold to Kansas
Buffalo: With Lance Leipold heading to Kansas, read Chris Vannini’s Buffalo job profile for pluses, minuses and candidates.
Kansas: Buffalo’s Lance Leipold has been hired as the new head coach at Kansas. Leipold went 37-33 in six seasons at Buffalo, including 24-10 in the past three years and an AP No. 25 finish in 2020. He previously won six Division III national championships in eight years at Wisconsin-Whitewater.
April 27: Ole Miss OL coach out
Southern: Former NFL running back Marshall Faulk is a candidate for the Southern head coaching job and the sides have had conversations, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Western Carolina: Former Valdosta State head coach and USF offensive coordinator Kerwin Bell has been named head coach at WCU. Bell won a Division II national championship at Valdosta State in 2018.
Ole Miss: Randy Clements is out as offensive line coach, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. 247Sports first reported the move.
April 23: Chryst’s annual extension
Wisconsin: Head coach Paul Chryst has received an annual one-year extension to his five-year contract, which now goes through 2025.
Notre Dame: Richmond tight ends coach Trevor Mendelson has joined the Notre Dame staff in an off-field role working with the offensive line. Mendelson spent one spring season at Richmond and previously worked at Wake Forest.
UCF: Arkansas director of offensive personnel Jesse Stone is expected to join the UCF staff, according to 247Sports.
April 22: WVU extends Brown
West Virginia: Head coach Neal Brown has received a two-year extension through 2026. His average yearly salary will be $3.9 million, (Brown earned $2.95 million in 2020 with a pandemic cut) and the assistant salary pool has increased to $4 million, up from $3.7 million.
Temple: Quarterbacks coach Craig Harmon has resigned, and The Philadelphia Inquirer reports analyst Jake Landry is expected to be promoted to the role, though the move is not yet official. Harmon spent two years on staff and previously worked with Rod Carey at Northern Illinois. Landry is also entering his third season at Temple and worked at NIU.
April 21: FAU hiring Hines Ward
Florida Atlantic: Former NFL wide receiver Hines Ward is expected to join the FAU staff in an off-field coaching role, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Ward spent the past two seasons as a New York Jets offensive assistant. The Owl’s Nest first reported the news.
Presbyterian: Head coach Tommy Spangler has been dismissed. Spangler went 12-28 in four years in his second stint leading the program, including 4-3 this spring and ending with a three-game winning streak. He previously went 42-24 from 2001-06.
April 20: Norfolk State names new head coach
Norfolk State: Southern head coach Dawson Odums has accepted the same position at Norfolk State. Odums went 63-35 in nine seasons, winning four division title and one SWAC championship.
NC State: Director of recruiting Merci Falaise has been promoted to director of player personnel, and the recruiting staff has added Quint Cottingham (assistant director of player personnel – offense) and Corey Phillips (director of scouting).
Temple: Former player Chris Smith has joined the staff as assistant director of player personnel.
April 15: Northwestern’s new director of ops
Washington: St. John Bosco High School (Calif.) assistant Colin Lockett has joined UW as a defensive quality control assistant.
New Mexico State: Eastern Washington running backs coach Kevin Maurice will join the NMSU staff as inside receivers/tight ends coach. Maurice spent four years at EWU.
Northwestern: Jacob Schmidt has been promoted to director of football operations. Schmidt, a former Wildcats running back, has been with the program in the personnel department since 2012. He replaces Cody Cejda, who became the Chargers’ special assistant to the head coach.
April 14: Changes at Memphis
Michigan: Fresno State director of player personnel Courtney Morgan is expected to join and lead the Michigan recruiting department, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Nick Baumgardner. Morgan is a former U-M player. 247Sports first reported the news.
Mississippi State: Michigan director of recruiting Matt Dudek has resigned and is expected to join the Mississippi State staff, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. 247Sports first reported the move.
Memphis: Tight ends coach David Glidden will move to wide receivers, and senior offensive analyst Brad Salem will be promoted to tight ends coach, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Salem, a former offensive coordinator at Michigan State, is entering his second season at Memphis. GoTigers247 first reported the news.
April 11: Eddie George to Tennessee State
Tennessee State: Head coach Rod Reed is expected to be dismissed and replaced by former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George, according to Stadium and ESPN. George has no prior coaching experience. Read more here.
NC State: Head coach Dave Doeren has received a two-year extension through 2025 and a $250,000 raise to $3.5 million, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Matt Fortuna. Yahoo Sports first reported the news.
Western Carolina: Head coach Mark Speir has been dismissed. He went 33-68 in nine seasons after a decade as an Appalachian State assistant.
April 10: Memphis hires new special teams coordinator
Memphis: Charlotte special teams coordinator Charles Bankins is expected to join the Memphis staff in the same role, people with knowledge of the situation tell The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Bankins spent one year at Charlotte and has also worked at Old Dominion and Vanderbilt. Yahoo Sports first reported the news.
Auburn: Spanish Fort High School assistant Brendt Bedsole has joined Auburn as director of high school relations. Bedsole is a former Auburn player. In addition, Auburn has added Bryce Lewis as a defensive analyst and Brent Jackson as a defensive graduate assistant.
April 9: Florida adds former Colorado defensive coordinator as analyst
Kent State: Randale Richmond has been hired as Kent State’s athletic director. Richmond, who has a master’s degree in education from Kent State and worked there from 2004-15, was previously senior associate AD at Old Dominion.
UMass: Defensive analyst Jamey McClendon has been promoted to defensive ends coach. McClendon is entering his second season on staff.
Colorado: Newly-promoted defensive coordinator Chris Wilson will earn an average of $600,000 annually on a three-year deal.
Tulane: Former Tennessee quality control assistant Michael Colosimo has joined Tulane as an offensive analyst, and Purdue graduate assistant Jesse Schmitt has joined Tulane as a special teams analyst.
Florida: Former Colorado defensive coordinator Tyson Summers is expected to join Florida as an analyst, according to AL.com.
April 8: New BC hire
Tennessee: Special teams quality control assistant Carter Blount has joined the New York Giants as a defensive quality control assistant, where he’ll work with Jeremy Pruitt.
UNLV: Former North Texas cornerbacks coach Clay Jennings has joined UNLV in the same role. Jennings spent the last two years at UNT. In addition, City College of San Francisco linebackers coach Larry Grant has joined UNLV as a defensive analyst.
Boston College: Ohio State defensive quality control assistant Drew Christ has joined the Boston College staff as an assistant special teams coach.
FIU: Former special teams coordinator James Vollono has joined the Edmonton Eskimos as running backs coach.
April 7: Texas A&M hires Cromartie
Texas A&M: Former NFL cornerback Antonio Cromartie has joined the A&M staff as a defensive graduate assistant.
Bowling Green: Damaris Linker has joined the staff as director of football operations.
April 6: Alvarez will retire
Illinois: Pat Ryan has been hired as director of Illinois high school relations. Ryan, an Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Famer, spent the past 30 years as head coach at Metamora High.
Wisconsin: Athletic director Barry Alvarez will retire on June 30, 2021 after 32 years at the school.
Kansas: New athletic director Travis Goff’s contract is a five-year deal worth $700,000 annually.
Vanderbilt: Former defensive backs coach Marc Mattioli is the new head coach of the Parma Panthers in the Italian Football League.
April 5: Kansas chooses AD
Kansas: Northwestern deputy athletic director Travis Goff is expected to be named athletic director at Kansas, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Matt Fortuna. Goff, a KU alum, has been at Northwestern since 2012.
North Texas: Quality control assistant Chris Petrilli is expected to be promoted to a full-time special teams role, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Petrilli has been on staff since 2019.
Iowa State: Athletic director Jamie Pollard has signed an extension through 2026.
Alabama: Drew Svoboda has been hired as special teams coordinator and tight ends coach, replacing Jay Graham, who stepped down less than two months after being hired. Svoboda had moved to Memphis this spring after spending the previous three seasons coaching special teams at Rice.
Auburn: Former Atlanta Falcons tight ends coach Ben Steele has joined Auburn as a special teams analyst. Steele spent 2019-20 with the Falcons and six years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before that. Auburn has also added Joshua Thompson as director of football operations and Clesi Crochet as assistant to the head coach & football operations.
Florida State: Randy Shannon has been named a senior defensive analyst. Shannon, a 29-year coaching veteran who once served as Miami’s head coach, was most recently UCF’s defensive coordinator.
LSU: Analyst Russ Callaway will join the New York Giants staff as an offensive assistant, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman. AL.com first reported the news.
Purdue: Navy cornerbacks coach James Adams is expected to join the Purdue staff as defensive backs coach, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Adams spent two years at Navy and had previously coached at Charlotte under current Purdue defensive coordinator Brad Lambert. GoldAndBlack first reported the news.
April 4: New Kent State assistant
Kent State: Findlay defensive coordinator Jason Makrinos is the new safeties coach at Kent State. Makrinos spent the last five years at Findlay and was a graduate assistant at Kent State in 2007.
LSU: Defensive analyst Donald D’Alesio has joined the Kansas City Chiefs as a defensive assistant.
Nebraska: Outside linebackers coach Mike Dawson has added special teams coordinator duties.
Central Michigan: The Chippewas have added Alex Curtis, Michael Wade and Gabriel Miller as assistant strength coaches.
April 1: Duggan to Troy
Ball State: Former Ball State safeties coach Mike Dietzel has joined the Eastern Kentucky staff as safeties coach. Dietzel spent two years at Ball State.
Troy: Former Arkansas State defensive coordinator David Duggan has joined the Troy staff as director of recruiting. Duggan spent the past two seasons at Arkansas State.
